Forever scanning the horizon
Waiting for my ship to sail
Quietly recalling all the good friends
Wishing them a hearty fare thee well

Feeling the waves gently rocking
This stalwart vessel to and fro
Feel the years of time upon me
Knowing it is nearing time to go

End o’ day and the setting sun
O’ Thursday’s child so far to go
Tomorrow yet another new dawn
A new horizon to gaze upon

May the waves remain gentle still
The fates answer yea what they will
The questions that remain
No one need explain

Love my life lived it well
Now off upon the ocean’s swell
